you will need a computer (i perfer a Mac), and any DAWS. And a good mic and pop filter for the mic. and talent. lol and thats basically it.

    and @ SHEEmusic

    i like your setup

It’s a great setup. She knows her gear too. But, you don’t need anywhere near that much stuff to make great recordings. There’s a style called guerrilla recording than can be used to get pro results.

The software would be Protools and Cakewalk all that, right? What does the mixer and firebox do, is it for sound power?

  6. ledzep896 said:

why do you have an M-Box and a mixer? I thought you only needed one or the other seeing as they serve the save purpose of providing a place to plug in (audio in). Plz get back to me about this. Btw AWESOME studio!

You need basically four things (besides a computer and assuming you have the instrument(s) you want to record): recording software, either a mixer or a firebox to plug into, at least one microphone (condensor), and studio monitors which put the sound back at you from the computer. The reason you cant use your regular computer speakers is because they will not give you the true sound of the recording that you need to make a quality recording.

For supporting that SE reflector thing…why not just connect a desk flange to a ceiling joist…$3 vs $150 there…I saw where last month they were giving away the se2200 away for free with that reflection device
